How To Use Photos With Your Online Marketing

Visual marketing is an extremely powerful way to reach would-be consumers and encourage brand awareness, loyalty, and interest and ultimately increase sales.

Using photos in your social stream as part of your online marketing is the best way forward.

Google has made it abundantly clear that they will no longer tolerate keyword stuffed and irrelevant copy. Their algorithms have altered to include this no-tolerance approach and more than ever social media experts are striving to ensure that the content shared is fresh, relevant and most importantly customer-focused.

There are many ways that a business may use photographs online to strengthen relationships with would-be consumers, advertise the brand and generally increase sales.

Add Photos Everywhere

People find visual information much easier to decipher than text; that is simply the way that brain works. Take advantage of this and ensure that the best quality photographs are shared across the social stream, on profiles blog posts, articles and indeed anywhere that the brand has a base.

Profile Pictures and the Personal Connection

Generally speaking people relate and respond better to a real person they can see than to a cartoon character or brand logo. As the level of social media success for professionals very much depends on their ability to connect with their target audience it would be wise to be aware of this and include a real face for profile pictures and other visual content.

Be Emotional

People remember things best if they are touched by them emotionally. Posting content that makes someone laugh, cry (not too often) or touches them in some way will increase the chance that they will share the visual content and remember it well enough to tie it to the brand. Obviously it is important to ensure the emotional response is in some way positive. Driving a consumer to anger is perhaps not the best way forward.

Be Keyword Savvy

Add a tag and alternative texts to each photograph you upload to increase the likelihood for someone finding it and coming to have a look. SEO is not purely meant for written text.

Share and Share More

When you or your photographer take a great photo which makes a product look great or captures something important to the brand share it far and wide. As well as adding photographic content to your website, emails and blogs share on Flickr, Tumblr, Instagram, Pinterest and all of the other popular photo share sites which will further.

There are many creative and thought-provoking ways that a business may enhance the effectiveness of their marketing using photos. The key is to think outside of the box and look for new and original ways to use photography.
